The New Pokémon Kinda Sucks

Alright, let’s be honest here, guys. The new Pokémon games kinda sucked this year. Don’t get me wrong, I love Pokémon as much as the next guy, but it’s just been going downhill since Gen II.

For starters, they’re making it way too easy. It started with the TMs being reusable, but now you’re telling me I don’t have to keep buying Escape Ropes? I can change my Pokémon’s nature with items? Not only that, but the EXP share is always on now! I don’t even have to spend hours soft-resetting, grinding, training, or running into Zubats in the caves! What’s next? Infinite Repels? Being able to run from trainer battles? Am I just gonna turn on the game and get a notification that says “Congratulations! You beat the Champion!” It’s ridiculous.

Not only that, but they’re making it way too childish. All the life-lessons about friendship and never giving up? Cringe, am I right? It’s like, just let me play my game without all these cutscenes and storylines about friendship and trying your best. I get that the character is supposed to be twelve, but I’m not a baby! I don’t care about all that stuff.

All that is annoying, but what really gets me is that they cut Pokémon out of the past games. I spent months on end hatching eggs trying to get a perfect IV/EV, shiny, competitively ranked team, and now you’re telling me that I can’t transfer them over to the newest game? That I just wasted all that time running around in circles and selling my ditto into prostitution for nothing? Why even play the games if I can’t hatch 4,000 eggs for the perfect team and then wonder-trade all the ones I don’t want anymore?

All I know is that Game Freak is gonna have to change some things if they want to keep me as a customer, because all the crap they’re putting out recently seems like it was made for kids.
