Sources are confirming that a lap desk belonging to Taylor Garcia, 31, has since been relegated to functioning as a bed plate.
“When I saw it at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, I just thought about how much better this would make working from home; I had to get it” Garcia recalled in reference to the beanbag lined plastic board.
“I gave up trying to do work on it because I would just end up falling asleep or my neck would hurt” she continued, “Then one night I wanted to eat in bed but didn’t want to get the bed dirty, and that’s when everything changed. It was like the fog had lifted, and everything was finally clear”
Garcia has reportedly used the surface to eat every subsequent meal in her bed, causing tension with her live-in boyfriend Miles. “Look, I was excited when she got it too, don’t get me wrong, but now there are so many crumbs in the bed, it’s kinda gross,” he described, “and the food stains on it are getting so layered, it’s like a smelly, sticky collage.” Recent polling has confirmed that 9 out of 10 lap desks have also been purchased by self reported bed eaters.
At press time, Garcia was considering purchasing a yoga mat to use as a weighted blanket.
