Famous electronic dance music producer Skrillex admitted Sunday to playing online game World of Warcraft while on stage performing his dubstep music.
“It all started when my guild was doing a raid on the Temple of Ahn’Qiraj on the same night as my Lollapalooza headliner performance,” said Skrillex. “I didn’t want to let my friends down. Some—well, most—of my best friends are in that game.”
“It was easy to pull it off,” said Skrillex. “All I do on stage is sit at my laptop anyway, so I would just level grind by killing noobs in the PvP area.”
Some of Skrillex’s guildmates have reported on this strange behavior, especially when raiding dungeons and farming gold.
“He always seemed very distracted when we did group raids together,” claimed his alleged best friend, Warrior_kid_XXX_27. “He would often yell things like ‘How are you feeling tonight, San Francisco!’ even when we were clearly in Shadowmoon Valley and not in San Francisco.”
In his confession interview with the Rolling Stone, Skrillex called out some of his fellow DJs for their on-stage activities. According to Skrillex, Deadmau5 has been known to spend his stagetime emailing his mom and filing his tax returns.
