The car belonging to area boyfriend Ira Hewitt reportedly has a new smell, according to Hewitt’s girlfriend, Anna Messer.
“I thought I knew what to expect, but I guess I just got too comfortable with whatever air freshener cocktail he’d been using,” Messer described. “But then the other day I got into his car, and it was like a stranger to me.”
The new smell has reportedly been compromising for her: “I don’t have my license, so Ira just drives me, which is great, but I’m just so on edge with the new smell, I don’t know if I can be in that car anymore.”
The unfamiliar odor has been described as “earthy and skunky but also sweet and syrupy.”
When reached for comment, Hewitt described the current state of the relationship, “I guess we’re not hanging out that much right now. Anna just wants to walk everywhere but it’s like 10 degrees out and I have a perfectly good car, I don’t know what’s up with her.”
At press time, the removal of an old banana and some roaches from the center console had caused the smell to dissipate completely.
